Hysteroscopy Why, How & When ?

<

What is Hysteroscopy ?

  • Hysteroscopy helps the doctor to look into the uterus in order to diagnose and treat any existing issues.
  • A hysteroscope, a small telescope with a light connected to it, is inserted through the vagina and into the uterus.
  • A camera on the hysteroscope provides images that the doctor will view on a screen so that they are able to see exactly what is causing their patient trouble.
  • Procedure involves no cuts on the abdomen

When you may need Hysteroscopy ?

  • Abnormal bleeding - to diagnose & treat what is causing it
  • To remove adhesions that could have been the result of an infection or past surgery.
  • Multiple miscarriages to detect Uterine Structure Abnormality
  • To diagnose & treat existing conditions, such as fibroids and polyps (non-cancerous growths within the womb).
  • To find and remove an intrauterine device.
  • Invaluable tool in patients with Infertility
